Own Glory

I am evolved, evolved for a greater good.

I am changed, changed for better!

I laugh, I cry, I run, I wait…learning what to do when.

I am growing day by day, every now and then.

Every moment comes with a surprise, connecting dots to many more lines.

They made me who I am, continuing towards sunshine.

Overwhelmed by my own story,

I will shine in my own glory!

My Copycat

Cutest of all and jumping around my way,

One who knows everything I have to say.

Mimicking my expressions to laughing on my clumsiness

But the one who fills my heart with happiness.

My Talking Tom with childlike innocence,

Knows to irritate me in any situation.

Copying my words and using them as an owner;

And I will be smirking, somewhere in a corner.

No surprise, that I try to do tit-for-tat;

But I cannot beat my Copycat!

Tiny abstractions

Tiny little things that I remember and mingle,

Especially when I am lost in my mind’s jungle.

That insignificant randomness which turns into perplexing parallel universe,

Sometimes, is a blessing and sometimes becomes a curse.

Some leads to itsy-bitsy joys and some reminds dreadful floe.

Intermittently, I need to find, where it actually flows

I close my eyes and tell my wondrous abstract mind,

Life is short, to make it worthwhile,

Forget the scary lines and choose to shine!!

Said that solitude is dangerous.
Yes it is,
For the one with abstractions,
As it gives that freedom!

That freedom to be spontaneous,
That freedom to live in chaos,
That freedom to be just stupid sometimes.

Sometimes just to be child and demand for no reason,
Sometimes just to get silent for all yourself,
Sometimes just to feel the way you want to feel,

To feel without any negation of your feelings,
To feel even when you know its crazy and then let go,
To feel that way because its you, uniquely imperfect!

Yes, the habit of seclusion is dangerous,For the one with abstractions.

I go out in nature and see that little insect,
The colorful, beautiful and playful!!
Some small and some big,
Some dark and some bright,
I wish I too could be a butterfly !They too carry the different colors,
Just like I have my different moods,
They too are carefree and restless,
Just like I urge the freedom of my soul! What I miss that the wings that they have.
Wings to hope around where ever they want,
Wings to pick and go to the  flower they love,
I wish I too could be a butterfly !

Old House

She is standing at a distance, freezing and numb
That old place is calling her, the only home she knew once.
The one she had made with dreams and hopes,
In the corner of her heart, that is now closed.

To turn back or go ahead,
Little confused she is to go in past!
Is it right? Is it wrong? To peep into some days that no more last.

Walking at a snail’s pace, she reaches near her old home,
Leaning on dusting wall and looking through stained dome.
Her thoughts are changing the length of her lips,
while memories run down from happiness to scream.

The moment of realization has blown her mind,
It was a hollow place without the one with whom it was built.
The house will retain experiences and wisdom,
Time has come to lock its door, throw the keys and move forward.

Stepping ahead for a new home with new wings,
She looked back once and turned around with moist eyes.
Her tears no more resembles the sadness of loss,
The old home remains inimitable,
but the new home is her destiny to find new horizons!

When I know It Is Right

I choose to fight when I know it is right.
Dark for you may become light for me,
Night for you may become sunrise for me,
I choose my path and fight,
As I know, for me it is right!

There will be your truth, there will be my truth;
Universal truth? Well, does not exist!
I choose my truth and fight,
As I know, for me it is right!

I seek abundance in all my sights,
Why to drag insecurities and draw lines?
I choose that brings to me happiness and smiles
As I know, for me it is right!

On my Death-bed I will be asked,
Did I live or just sailed through this little life?
To answer that question with pride,
I fight for what it is right!

Lessons From Life

It is Teacher’s Day and my best wishes to all those people in my life who have inspired me and also, to those who directly or indirectly affected my life and made me learn some important lessons. With this, I would like to share all this lessons I have learned till now from my experiences and observations…

We are living in a time when our set of friends would change in every few years. Most of us are going to live in different cities due to change in college, new job or any other personal reason. This is a hard fact that we can’t avoid. But in each group of friends, we will get at least one close friend who will remain with us for the rest of our life. The beauty here is that each one of those friends would be unique and different, whom we met at different phases of life. They will help us to see the world in different perspectives and ultimately making our life even more eventful !!! Never leave them.

Family and Relatives

Love your family members with all your heart but stay aware about the fact that they are also changing with time and we need to accept that change. Respect their individuality and they will love you back 🙂
As for relatives, connect with those who actually care about you. Don’t raise your temper for those famous “Char Log” because what they think is non of your business and anyway not under your control.

True love never dies- that is what we all have read/heard all the time. Well, it would be true in a way that you would always want the other person to be happy whom you have loved deeply. But when it comes to relationships, to love is good but to love and to be loved is essential to go ahead. Otherwise, soon you are gonna explode and feel like slapping yourself for wasting all that time to run behind a mirage! Go and get life..
Do not take it for granted if you are blessed to have a loving, caring and understanding person by your side. Feel blessed and thank God each day, your love will increase in leaps and bounds 🙂
And if you are still waiting for THE ONE, anyway he/she will find the way to reach you and till then, enjoy madi !!!

Hobbies and your passion

This is my favorite section 🙂
Getting into your hobby or passion after you turn 40 is a good thought. You will make it happen if your will power is strong and you are fit enough to take it further for next 20-25 years. But what if you find yourself in a situation where your health is degrading due to urban life style or you have entered into some family situation which is not allowing you to do so?? or simply you die before turning 40??
Today is the day my friend !! (Courtesy: ZNMD)
You wont get time anyway, you need to consciously spare it to follow your heart.

Eh! what to talk when I am the one who used to get scared of finance subjects !! Thanks to my dad who is my 24*7 helpline in money matter. Eventually I have developed a thumb rule for that..

35% Spend on daily needs
15% Savings
20% Hobby and travel
20% Invest
5% timepass kharcha
5% charity when you get a chance
Interest, profits and unexpected inflow: Buy Luxury

That is all the simple math I have to share 🙂
I will stop here and wish that by next year I will have more to add upon!

To My Forever Love!!

Opening my eyes and waking up, I wish to have you!
Sitting on porch on a rainy day and  my all time favorite companion is you!
Struggling in the middle of my work and suddenly I miss you!
An excuse for chitchat, an obvious reason is none other than you!

I am thinking of you now, sitting on my cold bed and writing about you!
I have you with me and you make me feel warm!
Your smell tells me instantly how you gonna change my mood!
amazing to see you always coming to me hot!
And what to say when you touch my lips and my mind is blown!
Love you my beloved Ginger Tea!!
I also like your siblings Masala Tea, Cardamom Tea and your cousins Coffee, filter coffee etc etc. But nothing can beat you. You rock!

The Great Caste System- Rethink or Revoke

While we consider ourselves as the most intelligent creature on this planet, and developed many customs which have helped us to ease our day to day life; always the time would come to reconsider if they still benefit and contribute to the society or the moment has come to vanish them from the roots. One of the oldest among these systems is the division of people in different caste system simply based on their birth. I know I am not talking anything new but will just try to justify this in my way and remind the readers here that this is something that we really need to think about.

Thousands of years ago our ancestors developed a smart system of dividing people of society based on their work of interest and qualities. It helped to run the routine in a smooth way and also as the tasks were defined for them, they could do it more skillfully. I would like to quote a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita which explains this in a crystal clear manner. This is 13th shloka from chapter 4:

चातुर्वर्ण्यंमया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः
तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्धयकर्तारमव्ययम्॥
Lord Krishna clarifies to Arjuna that The four-fold order was created by Me according to the divisions of quality and work. Though I am its creator, know Me to be incapable of action or change.

Here people may misinterpret (or understand just the way they want it) that the four fold system is created by God and even he cant change it. Guys, please understand the immediate line stating that it is based on Guna (Aptitude) and Karma (Function) and not based on birth (Jaati/Caste). There are three type of Guna : Sattva, Rajas and Tamas- which are inherent in every individual in different proportion. The usage of word Varna which literally means “color” is also not to indicate the color of your skin but the color of your actions i.e. your Karma.

While this system gives a complete freedom to every individual to decide upon their Varna based on skills and qualities, it has literally taken a U-turn in all these years ultimately hampering the unity in our society as we have taken it forward simply based on the caste/surname carried by the family in which we born. Today, most of the new generation people seem to get out of this mindset due to global exposure they get but we still have a big bunch of people in our country following the same old Jaati and Caste frame. With that, in a way they also like to satisfy their ego if they belong to some so called higher caste. There would also be a group who will support it to get some benefits in government sector jobs or getting admission in some institutes which still follows this system. I understand the government’s point of view to help needy people and support it too, but why that is based on caste an not on your annual income and opportunities in their area? (vote banks of-course and that fact is really redicu..). We still have a generation of parents carrying the taboos about inter-caste marriages which follows high level of stress among parents and their children.

Any societal system comes into place with a good motive to benefit all involved the particular process. But as it is said : Change is inevitable, and we need to again look back and re-examine the mind frames we are following since years. Either understand the system from the roots and implement it in a beneficial way or just abandon it ! But why to stick the same when the time is running ahead at every second????
